Animal Consulting

Welcome to our office! We offer animal chiropractic here in our office through appointment only. We serve the Thurston County area and have the ability to travel to you if needed. It is important for us to ensure that your pet has had routine care with a veterinarian .( We are not a veterinarian office and animal chiropractic does not replace routine veterinarian care. We work closely with your local veterinarian to ensure that your furry family member is receiving quality care.

Here are some helpful tips to get the most out of your visit with us:

  • A Referral from your vet is not needed but it is encouraged.
  • For cat appointments, please make sure they are in a carrier.
  • For dog appointments, please make sure they are leashed (maximum 6 feet) at all times, including getting in and out of the car. It's important to keep everybody as safe as possible!
  • Please only bring the pet that has an appointment! We love to see everyone's pets, but we do have limited space in our office.
  • We love your pet and you love your pet, but not everybody loves animals. Please be aware of your surroundings!
  • Hygiene is important, especially in a dual healthcare clinic of people and animals. Please be mindful of your pet's cleanliness. Also, make sure to clean up after your pet.
  • Please bring a muzzle  if your dog has a bite history or who barks/lunges. Dr. Cordis will have muzzles available in the office too. Please be aware that if your dog shows any signs of aggression, we may have to muzzle them, for our safety and yours.
  • If your pet is anxious, let us know and we can work with you to set up a tour of the clinic so they are more comfortable before their appointment.
  • Please call us upon arrival and we will call you back when we are ready for your pet.
  • Due to limited space in the office, only one paw parent should be at the appointment unless it is discussed with the office prior. If you are anxious about your dog getting adjusted, please bring someone with you to help handle the dog in the room with Dr. Cordis. There can only be one person in the room with Dr. Cordis, all others will have to wait in our waiting room.
  • Children will NOT be allowed into the adjustment room, as their excited energy can cause distraction to your pet.

What is Animal Chiropractic?

What is Animal Chiropractic?

A pediatric patient is holding her puppy in her lap, while the doctor is performing a chiropractic animal adjustment to the puppy

Chiropractic care focuses on abnormal movements of the spine and the effects these restrictions have on the nervous system and the entire body. Chiropractor treatment does not replace traditional veterinary medicine. However, it can provide additional means of diagnosis and treatment options.

Realighment is made via a quick, short thrust along the plane of the joint. This is called an adjustment, which is a very specific, high speed, low force maneuver that restores movements of the affected joint by taking it beyond the normal range of movement, and without exceeding the anatomical integrity. It is done by placing the hands/or instrument directly on the affected vertebrae.
